Hi, I’m Melissa :). The owner of thelionsprophecy. I’m a lover of Jesus and positive declarations. I’m married to my best friend and a mommy to our sweet, almost 2 year old daughter.

Below you will find what inspired me to become an entrepreneur, why I chose thelionsprophecy as my business name and what we’re all about.

thelionsprophecy was inspired by years of feeling inadequate, worthless and never good enough. I felt like I could never measure up to who God created me to be. I felt so far behind, so guilty of past mistakes and failures and I just couldn’t see how God could actually love me for me. I couldn’t accept the fact that God loves me! The God of all creation loves me??? Yes, He does! I couldn’t understand it. And truth is, I may never fully understand it but I can choose to accept it and I can choose to embrace it. You see, God doesn’t extend His grace to us because of anything we say or do. He extends His grace simply because He chooses to. It’s something that is freely given and never earned. That is the beauty of grace, a gift that is freely given.

I’ve worked at quite a few jobs but honestly did not feel peace. I kept telling myself I needed to discover what moved my spirit and go for it. For so long I wanted to start this business and become my “own” boss but I allowed a lot of things to get in the way - fear, comparison, feelings of inadequacy and financial difficulties to name a few. In 2016 I quit my job to go back to school for business and also started babysitting part time to help out with costs. I received a phone call one day stating that the classes I signed up for were canceled due to not having enough enrollment. I then questioned if I was even supposed to be taking the classes. I now know the answer is no. God has a way of working things out. I didn’t have to necessarily go back to school in order to become a business owner. While there is nothing wrong with going back to school, it just isn’t always necessary. Although I wasn’t able to take those classes, I did continue babysitting and shortly after found out I was pregnant. I had babysat many children before and even worked at daycares but I knew the Lord had other plans for me and was truly preparing me for the one thing that would absolutely change my life forever - MOTHERHOOD! “You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.” Proverbs 19:21 NLT.

I now know that all the years of holding onto this dream and trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing were so worth it because it led me right here. Right where I belong. Being a mother has shown me something that I truly needed the most… GRACE. There it goes again. So it was then, during my pregnancy that I truly felt the tug of God calling me to accept His love and grace. And it was then that I knew I had to hold on to it because I was going to need it more than ever. As mommies, we may sometimes feel our life ends when our child’s life begins. But surely it does not. Our dreams and passions do not have to end. Sure, sometimes things have to be put on hold but it does not have to end. Our children should be a reason we fight all the more for our dreams to become reality!

So, why exactly is the name thelionsprophecy, you may ask? Because it was the constant reminder the Lord gave me. He offers an endless supply of love and grace. It’s needed today and everyday and there’s nothing I can or can’t do to earn it. It’s remembering what God has done for you that will help you to extend His grace to others. If He did it for me, He surely can do it for you.

OUR MISSION: To extend the love and grace of God to all people, through comfort, style and creativity.

All the items in our shop are gracefully designed to make a positive difference and spread God’s love and grace. We run our business within our home, where all items are hand printed by me and some designs are hand made by me. Our prayer is that as the designs are being seen, lives are being changed through the power of Jesus Christ. We pray that it encourages someone in any way and sparks conversations about our God. We pray that anyone who is struggling with self-love will receive God’s love and grace and live in the freedom He provides. Remember, Grace is a gift that is freely given. All of our items are gifts that give! It gives everyone an opportunity to creatively share their faith, spread God’s love and encourage others.
